Summer Wishes

Summer Wishes

Summer is here in case you haven’t noticed and I am excited… beyond excited! Rhode Island has more than 400 miles of coastline and if you are like me and love the ocean then this is the place to be.

Let’s start with our annual girls trip to Block Island is next week and that my bag is ready. I almost missed the trip this year and in reality it would have been devastating, so I am beyond happy that I am going to be there with all the girls, it will be our 11th year “celebrating us” and celebrating our friendship, we have so many good memorable moments and quotes from these trips, we should make a photo book.

Block Island sunset – 2014. Follow me on instagram and I am sure to post a few like this one this year:

This summer started with a lot of fun events in Providence like the Providence International Art Festival which was an amazing day that showed how awesome is to live here. So my summer wishes for 2015 are: beach, sun, good food and spend the most amount of time among family and friends enjoying the summer.

I hope you enjoy little Rhody in the summer…

Cheers to the Weekend

This weekend was great. It was gorgeous outside… which was perfect for my first 5K this year, although it made me realize that I needed new shoes.

ASICS is my favorite brand as far for running shoes, I am not a runner and consider myself a beginner year round, so this ones are perfect for me.

I embraced my inner tourist and decided to take a walk through downtown Providence and stopped by the The Arcade Providence, such a beautiful building. I grabbed coffee to go and walk around a bit more that area. Found a restaurant I will like to try sometime soon. Rogue Island, which is inside the Arcade. Also, I noticed that there is a Curl and Blowout Bar that is opened on Sundays (Yay!) that’s going to be a life saver pretty soon!

Next, a quick visit to the Providence Athenaeum, and I have to admit that I have never been in there before, which is giving me a few ideas for a future post “What would a tourist do?” Let’s start with the obvious and forget everything I think I know about my town. Not going to the regular places I usually go to and check out new ones, that’s the way you find those hidden gems.

I’ll be exploring Rhode Island a lot this year!

Weekend Notes: Simplicity

This weekend is as usual a bit busy with a soccer game and the usual cleaning/laundry/food shopping/birthday party/brunch. Lots of domestic and fun stuff. No, I am not paying much attention at those items on my to-do list, the domestic ones, I am much more excited about this Sunday 5k which I signed up with my 13 year old daughter; let’s face it, teens are strange creatures so if she has the slightest interest in being a part of this, you damn right I am signing up for it.

Hope you enjoy the weekend!
